Baby Portraits | Pimpama, Gold Coast

These baby photo portraits were taken at my client’s home in Pimpama, Gold Coast.

This baby was a couple of weeks when I took her photos. The baby’s mother is Japanese and her father is Australian. I tried different photo props and costumes in this session and I made some paper flowers.

The kimono in the photos is mine and I wore this when I was three years old for a Shichigosan celebration which is a traditional ceremony for children in Japan. You can see maple leaves in the pattern of this kimono. The celebration is held in November when the Autumn leaves change colour to yellow, orange and red, so you can see the season (maples) in this kimono. I placed obi sashes around the baby.

This kimono and the obi sashes are available to hire for photo shoots.

Baby’s mother is a music teacher, so I wanted to take photos of the baby with her piano.  At the post production, I added some music symbols.  Sumico Photography can customise photos more personal with a message, your favourite quotes, or illustration.
