At Sumico Photography, we create magazine-style portrait experiences designed to celebrate you. Whether you’re marking a milestone, embracing a new chapter in life, or simply wanting beautiful photographs of yourself, our sessions are tailored to help you look and feel your best.
Many of our clients arrive feeling nervous or camera shy. That’s perfectly normal. Through professional guidance, styling, and a relaxed atmosphere, internationally awarded photographer Sumiko Eyears helps transform uncertainty into confidence, creating portraits that reflect your strength, beauty, and personality.
Your portrait experience can include professional hair and makeup, multiple outfit changes, and access to our studio wardrobe featuring a selection of beautiful gowns and accessories. Sessions can take place in our Main Beach studio or at nearby locations including the beach, picturesque parks, stylish cafés, and other unique backdrops.
Step 1: Pre-Session Consultation
Your journey begins with a complimentary consultation online. This is where we plan your dream photoshoot together.
We’ll discuss:
- How you would like to be photographed
- Wardrobe options and styling
- Hair and makeup preferences
- Locations and backgrounds
- Products and pricing
- Any questions or concerns you may have
Whether you’re celebrating a milestone birthday, building confidence, creating family keepsakes, or simply treating yourself to a memorable experience, we’ll design a session that reflects your vision.
You are welcome to bring up to five outfits, and you’ll also have access to our studio wardrobe, which includes a range of gowns, fabrics, and accessories in various styles, colours, and sizes.
Step 2: Your Photoshoot Day
On the day of your session, our professional hair and makeup artist can help you look and feel amazing before stepping in front of the camera.
No modelling experience is required.
Sumiko will guide you through every pose, expression, and movement, showing you exactly how to position yourself to create flattering, natural-looking portraits. Most clients tell us they feel nervous at first, but before long they’re laughing, relaxing, and enjoying the experience.
With over a decade of experience photographing women of all ages, shapes, and backgrounds, Sumiko knows how to bring out your best while ensuring you feel comfortable and confident throughout the session.
Step 3: Your Image Reveal
Within two weeks of your photoshoot, you’ll be invited to view your beautifully edited portraits either via Zoom or in person at the studio.
During your viewing appointment, you’ll have the opportunity to select your favourite images and choose from our range of digital collections, print packages, wall art, and albums.
There is no minimum purchase requirement, allowing you to select only the images and products you truly love.
Session Information
Portrait Session Fee: $385
Your session includes:

- Professional hair styling and makeup for one (optional)
- Up to two hours of guided photography
- Up to five outfit changes
- Access to studio wardrobe and accessories
- Professional editing and retouching
- Personal image reveal and ordering appointment
Note: Your session fee includes your pre-session consultation, professional photography session, access to our studio wardrobe, professional editing and retouching, and your image reveal appointment. Portraits, digital images, wall art, and albums are purchased separately, allowing you to choose only the images and products you love.
