There is something particularly special about photographing multiple generations together. Grandmothers, mothers, daughters and grandchildren each share a unique bond and family story. These portraits become treasured keepsakes that preserve precious memories and family connections for future generations.
Led by internationally awarded photographer Sumiko Eyears, every session is fully guided, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and looks their best. Whether family members are confident in front of the camera or feeling a little nervous, Sumiko’s warm and relaxed approach helps capture genuine expressions and authentic connections.
Studio & Location Options
Studio Address: 8B, 15 Tedder Avenue, Main Beach, Gold Coast.
Our Main Beach studio offers the best of both worlds. We can create timeless, formal family portraits in the studio and then step outside to capture more relaxed and natural images.
Located within walking distance of the beach, beautiful parks, stylish cafés and a variety of interesting backgrounds, we can create a diverse collection of images during your session. Many families choose a combination of elegant studio portraits and casual outdoor photographs.
Professional hair and makeup is available as an optional service, and multiple outfit changes are encouraged. We also have a studio wardrobe available for ladies and girls, including a selection of dresses and accessories.
For elderly parents or grandparents who may find travelling difficult, Sumiko is happy to arrange a portrait session in the comfort of your home, helping make the experience enjoyable and stress-free for the entire family.
Your Portrait Experience
1. Consultation
Your experience begins with a complimentary consultation, either online or in person. Together we’ll discuss your family, clothing choices, locations, styling options, products, and how you’d love your family to be photographed.
2. Portrait Session
Enjoy a relaxed and fully guided photography experience with Sumiko. Whether you choose studio portraits, outdoor portraits, or a combination of both, Sumiko will guide everyone through posing and expressions to create natural, flattering images that reflect your family’s personality and connection.
3. Image Reveal
Within two weeks of your portrait session, you’ll be invited to view your beautifully edited images either online or at the studio. This is where you’ll select your favourite portraits and choose from our range of digital collections, prints, wall art and albums.
Family Portrait Session Fee – $385
Your session fee includes:
• Complimentary pre-session consultation
• Professional hair styling and makeup for one person
• Additional hair and makeup services available for other family members at an extra cost
• Up to two hours of guided photography
• Multiple outfit changes
• Studio and/or nearby outdoor locations
• Professional editing and retouching
• Personal image reveal and ordering appointment
Portraits, digital images, wall art and albums are purchased separately, allowing you to choose only the images and products you love.
Travel fees may apply for home visits and locations outside the Main Beach area.
